About Us

THE OFFICIAL KYOKUSHIN ORGANISATION IN GREAT BRITAIN APPOINTED AND RECOGNISED BY SOSAI MASUTATSU OYAMA PRIOR TO HIS PASSING IN 1994

The International Kyokusin Organisation (Great Britain) was formed in November 1991 with Shihan Claronino as the Country Representative / Chief Instructor and Sensei Grant Kinnaird as it’s first Chairman. In November 1991 the I.K.O. (G.B) had 24 dojo’s.

The I.K.O. (G.B) is committed to the promotion of Kyokushin Karate in Great Britain. The Organisation has a constitution which ensures that it is run on a democratic basis according to the law of the land. In all other matters members are committed to following the ideals of our founder Masutatsu Oyama.

In 1991, the I.K.O. (G.B) was recognised by Masutatsu Oyama as his only Official Kyokushin Organisation to represent him in Great Britain. We continue to uphold the wishes of our founder in promoting and fostering the spirit of true Kyokushin Karate in Great Britain.

Did you Know?

In 1991 Mas Oyama declared that the I.K.O. (G.B) was his only officially recognised Kyokushin Organisation in Great Britain. This remained the position right up to his passing in April 1994.
